About Us
Crimson Clover Farmette
We're a small, family owned apiary, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Crimson Clover began in 2020, when we brought home our first two colonies of bees. Over the following two years, owner and head beekeeper Stephanie learned all she could about honeybee magic, and in June 2022 was finally ready to share Crimson Clover honey with the world. The apiary is located in the geographical center of Virginia, where the bees collect nectar from wildflowers, trees, and cover crops (they LOVE local Tulip Poplars in early spring, and are grateful for late fall buckwheat).

Along with the bees, we have a vegetable garden and the beginnings of a small orchard. We don't use any pesticides or chemicals on our property and do our best to let the earth do as it pleases whenever possible. That means our garden has "weeds," and our yard is often un-mowed, but our bees love the extra time that gives them with the pollen and nectar!
